A Perry Hotel Wedding

Harbor Springs & Petoskey, MI

Hannah and Rai’s Perry Hotel wedding began at their family home in Harbor Springs , on the shores of Little Traverse Bay. As nature lovers, vegans, and stewards of the Earth, they wanted a celebration that felt effortless, organic, and rooted in local beauty.

Set in September, the timing complemented the bride’s parents’ native gardens and inspired a color palette drawn from the soft tones of late summer and early autumn. From locally sourced blooms to simple, thoughtful design, every detail reflected their love for each other and the natural world.

Vows surrounded by Little Traverse Bay

Hannah and Rai exchanged their heartfelt “I do” surrounded by close friends and family on the sparkling shores of Little Traverse Bay. To honor their love for Michigan and the beauty of the local landscape, we designed a custom birch arch, adorned with seasonal flowers, under which the couple stood. The arch, with its natural textures and understated elegance, framed the ceremony perfectly, creating a sense of intimacy and grounding the moment in family, friendship, and home.

Since their wedding took place in September, we embraced Michigan’s late-summer and early-autumn flowers. We highlighted the season’s native blooms, including lush hydrangeas and dahlias, arranged in ways that felt organic and effortless. The result was a ceremony that not only celebrated Hannah and Rai’s love but also paid tribute to the natural beauty and spirit of Hannah’s home state, making every detail feel thoughtful, personal, and deeply connected to place.

Dinner at The Perry Hotel

During the planning process with Juniper and Lace, we knew we wanted to fill the reception tent with as much botanical beauty as possible. Our goal was to create a space that felt lush, whimsical, and full of life. Hanging greenery cascading from rattan lighting created a carefully layered textured helping achieve a sense movement, making guests feel enveloped in the garden-like atmosphere.

On the tabletops, we incorporated hand crafted terra-cotta vases filled with seasonal blooms and soft moss, adding an organic, grounded touch. To bring color to the tables, we introduced pops of pink and peach with locally grown dahlias, cosmos, and lisianthus. Each arrangement was designed to feel in harmony with the natural surroundings and The Perry Hotel’s beautiful gardens, creating a reception that was connected to the surrounding Michigan landscapes.

For cocktail hour, we wanted to engage the senses and bring in an aromatic, garden-like touch. Each high-top table was adorned with potted herbs—from fragrant rosemary and sweet basil to earthy thyme—allowing guests to brush their fingers across the scented leaves and feel as though they were wandering through a lush, living garden. The subtle aromas added an unexpected layer of immersion, creating a sensory experience.

To complement the greenery and provide a vibrant focal point, we designed a live flower wall featuring climbing roses, lisianthus, and lush seasonal greenery. Our approach was to make the installation feel like a natural extension of the gardens at The Perry Hotel, rather than a staged prop. The wall not only added a bold pop of color to the space but also served as a whimsical backdrop for guests to capture memories.
